We have to admit, loot boxes have been one of the top problems in video games right now. Recently, we’ve seen more and more video game developers leaning towards the no-MTX policy which is what the players want. The good news is, Bungie has also announced that they will be removing Bright Engrams (loot boxes) in Destiny 2.
This change will occur with the start of the next season – Season of the Worthy. Last week, Luke Smith released a Director’s Cut blog post where he talked about the past, present, and future of Destiny 2.
“For Season 10, we’re doing away with Bright Engrams as purchasable items. We want players to know what something costs before they buy it. Bright Engrams don’t live up to that principle so we will no longer be selling them on the Eververse Store, though they will still appear on the Free Track of the Season Pass,” says Smith.
This doesn’t actually mean that Bright Engrams are getting removed completely in Destiny 2. It looks like players will still be able to unlock these engrams from season pass by simply playing the game. We’ll have to wait a little more for more details about Bright Engrams in Destiny 2.
Trials of Osiris is also getting released in Destiny 2 for the first time. The game mode has been the core of PvP in Destiny and players can’t wait to play it. We are getting old weapons and some old PvP maps as well with season 10.
Destiny was released on September 9, 2014, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Destiny 2 was released on September 4, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It was released later in 2019 on Google Stadia.
